The Sergeant laughed evilly the turned to the marines, "Squad Two surround the command crew, Squad One take point. We're Hell Hounds marines, we live for this shit!" Most looked traumatized by the fights some seemed okay, but a first encounter with the strogg was enough to mess anyone up for life...

The Marines managed to fall back to the hangar with little resistance. All seemed to go well. The command crew were loaded onto the drop-ship and it departed from the hangar, the hangar doors closing, the Marines entered the hangar once again. They set up defensive positions and talked to eachother. This was a time to socialize, but still stay alert. They would indulge themselves in conversations while they awaited pick up.

The Sergeant was sitting on a crate smoking a sigar that he didn't have before not only that, it really wasn't lighted. "That could've gone so much better." He mumbled watching the central entrance to the bay. "Remember marines these guys don't always use doors..."

"Yeah... they use their heads too." The lieutenant said, jokingly.

Hayek grinned and leaned back but his hand rested on the gun at his side. "The strogg are taking their time right now..."

"Yeah... maybe they are scared shitless because they found out we're the Hell Hounds! OORAH!" Private Bruder exclaimed.

Shadow shook his head at the privates words but let them think that, the only reason he was cocky because he survived... So far. "Can't wait to get on the ground after this..." He murmured, "I hate ships like this, suspended in the air... A cannon could come a blow us all away..." With the he laughed and went to the lieutenants lap-top then opened up a file which bega play "Blow me Away" By Breaking Benjamin.

"I don't think I gave you permission to use that, sergeant." The lieutenant said, smirking.
He was a fan of Breaking Benjamin, to say the least. He had no problems with the sergeant's choice in musical tastes. They had similar ones.

"Sorry, sir. Seemed like an appropriate choice in music right now, and could possibly cheer up the boots still scared out of their minds." He moved back to the crate he was sitting on early and actually laid back seeming to let his guard down.

"Better hope so, hopefully we'll be off this ship before they're done too." Shadow replied and still rubbed the injured and probably infected shoulder.

"Sergeant, maybe you should allow Nightengail to look at that wound. It looks serious." Rico said, hoping the younger man would comply.
He was worried for the man. He was a hardcharging Devil Dog, but that did not mean he wasn't human. He could take a beating, but some things required medical attention and this may be one of those times. He only hoped the sergeant would comply with his advice.

Shadow shrugged and hopped down, allowing Nightengail to check it out, soon after giving him an adrenaline shot, sewing up the cut and applying antibacterial cream before putting a bandage over it.

"There, now your all fixed up ya crazy Suicide Suit." Nightengail said, smiling at the man.
The sergeant smiled at the man and walked back to the crate he had leaned on. He sat down on it and awaited for the drop-ship arrived. This, however, was to be short lived. The sound of a ventilation grating popping out onto the metallic floor resonated throughout the hangar. A creature that looked somewhat like Stroggified dog growled at the Marines. Little glowling balls flew through the hand and touched down. Spawning from the balls were Strogg soldiers. They began attacking.
As the squad's attention was directed towards the Stroggified monstrosity, more Strogg poured into the hangar through the many entrances and exits. A battle had just begun and their pick-up was no where to be found.

Shadow rolled behind the crate he had been on seconds ago and primed an incendiary grenade then threw it directly at the dog and tossed several frag grenades at the doorways where the strogg were coming from then went back to his sniper training looking down the scope and landing every shot as a head shot dropping the strogg like flies... Armies of flies that didn't stop coming...
