The hail of bullets struck the monstrosity that charged Shadow. It groaned in obvious pain, but continued charging. After half a clip from Dunn and Heimrich's rifles were expended, and a full clip from Hayek it fell. Most of Hayek shots missed, as they were from the hip. He turned and nodded in thanks for the Marines assistance. He then decided it was probably an intelligent idea to bring the rest of his Marines with him. He commanded first squad to form up and search the first room. Dunn turned to his Marines and motioned from them to move forward.
"You heard the man, MOVE!" He ordered, watching the Marines snap to action.
Back in the hangar, Parker took a look around the hangar from his elevated position. He had seen nothing so far, but became more focused in at his squad leader's mentioning that he had seen something.
"Nothin', corporal. I have yet to see any tango's, though I'll give you a shout if I do." He said casually, though if one were to look into his face, they would see his seriousness.
Lieutenant Rico hovered over the laptop and typed in more quieries. It was almost like a job requirement to locate the missing personnel on the ship and get them to safety. He also wanted to know what had happened. What happened to the ship? How'd the Strogg get on board and what of the colony? Had it been placed under siege by the unrelenting forces of the Strogg war machine?
He did not know. Though he did know he would be writing a letter home to the Stone family for the loss of their son. He grimaced. He hated paperwork and he hated writing to families. It was part of his job description that he had hated the most. And he had become a little too familiar with doing so.
The Marines of first squad cleared the room that the Strogg Berzerker had appeared from. All was clear. Sergeant Hayek formed up in the middle of the group, Dunn on point, and ordered them to move out deeper into the ship. They were going to reach that turbolift at all costs.

After hearing what happened to a fellow Marine, Meyen wondered why did the Marine die? Was he not paying attention? Hes new thats why he died. Hes never been in combat before. Meyen felt sad for the yound Marine, but people die in war and Meyen has seen alot of it. Still pearing outside, after ten minuets he sees more movement this time. Two large shadows walk by the supplies. This time he knows theres something out there. He knew it was probablt Strogg.
"Fireteam 1, confirm movement outside. I see at least to large things of some sort outside near those supplies, Light'em up if you know there hostile." Meyen yelled up to his fellow Marines on the catwalk.

"Movement confirmed. Hostiles. One Strogg Grunt and a Strogg Soldier. Holding fire, I can't get a clear shot. I would like to remind you the Grunt is a priority target. Fucker is like a tank." Private Bruder announced, his rifle at the ready.
The last thing they needed was a Grunt to deteriorate the situation. Strogg Grunts were vicious, soldiers weak. The soldiers could be taken down by ten rounds from an assault rifle, generally. The attached weapon to their right hand and quick nature was what made them dangerous. The weapon was either an assault rifle or shotgun. The shotgun being the more feared. They would wait. The Grunt would normally attack first, but sometimes the Strogg did exert minor intelligence.

"We can take it, corporal. I've been on the bad end of those fuckers'. Just don't let up fire on it and we can take it down. Fuckin' tank!" The lieutenant said, he despised Grunts.

"Yeah... you'll need it." The lieutenant said, checking to make sure his assault rifle was loaded properly, then gave the thumbs up for "OK".
He was ready for the Grunt. Suddenly, a loud roar resonated from somewhere in the hangar. The Strogg soldier popped out and fired its handgun. It was an assault rifle and was firing non-stop. Fire Team Two opened up, shredding the lowly soldier to bits. This angered the dark green monstrosity known as the Grunt. It appeared from out of cover. It was bulky and large and had tubes protracting from its lower back up to its upper spinal column. The tubes were filled with some sort of yellowish liquid. The entire Grunt was made of a metallic substance. It was a scary thought when you thought about this actually being human, once. Now a bred killing machine.
The gurilla-like monstrosity attacked, charging at the nearest Marine. Everyone opened up and the red hot lead tore into its armor, some bullets richoeting off, others piercing the thick armor. The yellow glow of its eyes was almost scary. It came closer to Nightengail, its intended target. He opened up with shotgun blasts and the beast finally felt to the floor. Its body began to disintegrate and all remnants of its body disappeared. Everyone relaxed, some curious as to what had occured. The lieutenant relaxed and crouched back down, typing in more commands. This time, he was hacking into the ships security systems.
He found a file with all the locked doors to the ship. He accessed it and hacked every single door in the large vessel. All unlocked and would open upon approach. He then looked for some sort of security camera footage. Soon, he remembered that the Hoover was a little more outdated than the Normandy. It did not carry any security camera devices. Cursing under his breath, he switched back to the window of the sergeant's feed. He would see what first squad found.

The Sergeant was cursing his com giving the others static and the shoulder cam giving a partial static feed, in the time they had taken to kill the two strogg the boots of his fireteam had been near torn apart by a monstrous assault only a handful remained. And Hayek pushed them on to find survivors. He looked around a corner spotting 3 oncoming strogg soldiers and brought up his gun, as he turned the corner the three shots rang out through the halls. As the other members entered, and crouched the bullets tore the two that hadn't recieved perfect head-shots in half. "This.. First Squad... strogg..." The static cut apart the link and as the doors were unlocked his team had to keep moving or be cornered...

"Repeat your message, sergeant. I am encountering some interference. Over." The lieutenant said.

The feed appeared from a private the Sergeant had part of some kind of metal in his soldier as he barked out more orders holding an injured marine in that same arm and pointing his gun with his left. "WE NEED BACK-UP NOW DAMN IT!" He roared they could probably hear it in the hangar without the com. As the Sergeant signaled his troop on through another set of doors, he needed back up and Nightengale but that wasn't going to keep him from the mission. The next room was crawling with the strogg soldiers and Hayek mouthed the word 'shit' before throwing the injured marine and diving to the side. A huge salvo of bullets filled the view for a second then went dead.

"God damn it... fuck! Second Squad, MOVE!" Lieutenant Rico ordered, picking up his assault rifle.
"Bruder, Parker, stay where you are. You too, Meyen. Nightengail, you're with us!" The lieutenant exclaimed, moving towards the exit.
The Marines ran down the passageways, following the trail of death and destruction first squad had left behind. They turned a corner and witnessed second squad fighting for their lives. Strogg were rushing down the passages, seeking to kill the Marines around them. Second Squad joined the battle, providing their back up.
"Shadow, where's that injuried Marine?!" Nightengail exclaimed, looking around while staying low.

Hayek literally threw the marine at Nightengail and tackled a strogg to the ground the put a blaster shot in his head. "About fuckin' time!" He yelled and dropped the blaster for two of the M50 Assault Rifles, he squeezed the triggers allowing his won out and bloody squad to move behind the fresh fireteam. Hayek himself gritted his teeth as he dropped one of the weapons reloaded the other and fired while pulling out the metal rod lodged in his shoulder.

The Marines opened fired, cutting down Strogg as they came. After several minutes of sustained fighting, all combat ceased. The Marine, Private Heimrich, had been carried back to the hangar and given more extensive medical care. The two squads, though battered and beaten, continued on.

Sergeant Hayek had Nightengail quickly administer first-aid to his wound then return to the other wounded. "So much for having a full squad..." He muttered and made the knife-cutting motion for the marines to move to the next door. They made it to the elevator with minimal resistance then were at the door to the bridge...

The door opened slowly and revealed the many computer consoles the ran the entire vessel. Tactical displays, computers, programs, all were run from here. Weapons controls for the Hoover's primary and secondary defensive weaponry were controlled from this very location. A crucial point. The Marines split up into two groups to cover both ends of the bridge. They searched and linked up before the viewscreens of the space outside. Suddenly, six people walked out. All wearing SMC uniforms. One had the rank of captain. The Marines snapped to attention as best they could and saluted.
"At ease, Leathernecks." The captain said.
Sergeant Hayek approached the man and stood before him, standing a little more at ease.
"Sir, with all due respect I must ask, what in the hell happened here? Why in the hell are there Strogg running around freely on the ship?" He asked, demanding his answers.
The captain looked at him, his nametag read "MacMillan". After pondering over his quiery, he answering. Clearing his throat.
"Well, I send down a full regiment of Marines to the planet to investigate. I lost contact with them two days after. No idea what had occured. Then, suddenly, we were boarded by the Strogg. We fought desperately to survive and the rest of the command crew have been hiding out here since. When the security systems unlocked the doors, we were almost sure the Strogg had found us. Though, it appears you boys did this, eh?" Captain MacMillan said, then turned to the lieutenant.
"You're a lieutenant? You must be in command of this platoon. Take me and my men safely to the drop-ship and we can say good bye to this hellhole."
