SITUATIONAL REPORT - JATIS I: OPERATION MOBILE SHADE
The situation on Jatis I has deteroriated quickly. The Strogg have invaded the planet and anarchy and chaos as been running rampant throughout the local villages and islands surrounding the mainland. The Space Marine Corps, in cooperation with the planetary government of Jatis I, has come to reinforce the planet, repel the Strogg, and provide protection when needed. More than fifteen thousand Strogg forces have been reported on the planet and it has been severely difficult to protect certain villages.
One village has rebelled against the Space Military, the planetary government, and the United Earth Government. They have been an insurgent force since their creation and will ambush both civilians and military personnel on sight. The planet has been designated as a hot zone. The mainland is where the most Strogg forces have been basing themselves at, thus the strategic importance of having a military installation on the mainland.
The mainland has four primary bases, the command base Camp Omega, Fire Base Tyco, Fire Base Bravo, and M.A.S.H. Base Alpha. Each base has its on specific purpose and the highest amount of human ground forces is located from Camp Omega. Both fire bases are implemented in giving out artillery support when required and the M.A.S.H. base has been established for emergency MEDIVACs out of the combat field. It is close to the center of the action, making it strategically important. The entire situation on Jatis I is a hostile one and more Marine forces will be needed to repel the alien Strogg.
