The Hell Hounds as a group, aside from Godchild and Gravitt, all entered the mess hall together and grabbed some chow. Everyone was hungry and wanted to relax until their next mission popped up. Godchild was in the infirmary and Gravitt was outside the mess hall assisting some Marines in clean up detail. He would enter shortly. The Hell Hounds all sat at one table and ate quietly, no one yet sparking up a conversation. Time would tell when they would have their operation.
((OOC: Gravitt, you'll come in when I decide you've finished helping the Marines and you'll have the platoon's next mission orders.))

"I think the mission went pretty well... This isn't too bad of a place to be.." Hayek shrugged, "Holding this place did come a a big cost though." He sighed and took another bite of his food. "Y'all are free to do what you want now though."

Sergeant Meyen entered the mess hall and grabbed some chow, a big puddle of slop on his tray. It was not great, but it would suffice. He had sat down across from the lieutenant and nodded solumnly at his comment.
"Big losses... fuck, we nearly got our asses kicked," He said, then grinned, "But the Strogg were stupid to think they could fuck with Marines."
Meyen began to consume the food on his tray and did not say much. He saw Jones sit down next to the lieutenant and their resident combat correspondant sat next to Meyen. Private Washington entered, but decided not to get any food. They all were doing something in the mess hall.

"We wont lose. We've got family and friends at stake if we lose. That or some have a reputation to keep up... We wont lose." He stood up after finishing his meal and walked, heading to the infirmary.

As Lieutenant Hayek and Hoot entered the mess hall, about to return to chowing down, Sergeant Gravitt came in with word of a new mission. The Hell Hounds would be sending a single squad to go out and perform a patrol of the waterways. The lieutenant would have to pick who went. He sighed and scrutinized the group before him. He would have to pick who went and who did not.
((OOC: I would pick people that are generally active. I am trying to get Gravitt to continue posting, but he's working overtime right now.))

"Alright, who's up for the... Remotely interesting challenge?" He asked he just wanted to relax and let them handle it for now... "Tell me now if you want to go otherwise you'll probably be on the next mission anyway."

Hoot did not like combat. He did not like the danger, he did not like the fact that when he was on the job he could literally die within the blink of an eye, yet he stepped forward. "I want to go, it would remind me of what it is like to be up close and personal with the enemy, sir." Hoot said with a smirk. He *almost* forgot the that Hayek was a butterbar, he almost forgot to say *sir* at the end of the sentence. That is why NCOs who go through field commision or OCS are generally transferred out, the enlisted men still treat him as an equal.
There was always a flaw to that logic, though, Hoot thought. While the Maverick was sometimes treated as an equal by the enlisted men of his platoon, he had one thing that no other CO in any other squad had: loyalty, and a shitload of it. The enlisted men would follow him to hell and back, in this case literally.

Hayek smiled and nodded, "That's one, he's gonna need some help guys and girl." He added and winked at Jones the command position wasn't too hard to deal with having known everyone in the squad and being mellow about 'most' things...

Elias leaned in the doorway, bandages around his wrist and across his chest. He watched the procession of events with the intent on learning what he had to do.
"Count me in"

Hayek looked at Elias a bit worried, "They let you out of the infirmary or did you just walk out? I'm not letting you go if you're not well enough to... Higgins, makes two we need at least one more... If I let Mr. Death go."

Elias shrugged "Would it matter either way?" He shook his head "What they don't know won't hurt them"

"You know me Nick. . .I'm a medic, I'll be fine" He assured his old friend "I'm sure I'll live" He joked, but didn't relent on his insistance that he go with on the mission. This was his family, he had to protect them.

"I'll go sir. I have sustained only minor injuries and i am still ready to fuck Squib up." Meyen said while lighting his cigarette.
He wanted to do this OP, but didn't want the combat correspandant to tag along. The private indeed has a rifle, but Meyen doesn't trust him. Not yet at least.
