There are a few things you should know before you apply to the RPG.
1) This was mentioned before, but we want want to reaffirm it here - your character may die or suffer wounds too great to continue active duty. That's the nature of being a Space Marine and being attached to an active combat unit. By applying for the board, you're telling us you fully understand this and, if it happens, will not make an issue of it. Keep in mind the best way to keep your character alive is by frequent high-quality role-playing.
2) The administrators of this board ask any potential players to use their character's last name and first two initials for your military character in the application process. Please remember you are to post a topic named after your character. For an example, see the name listed below:
Ward, J.
3) This isn't the first time you'll hear us say this - we look at your first application submission as your best work because logically, if a person wants to join, they'll submit the best quality work they are able to do to give them the best chance of being accepted. Therefore, if you submit an application with loads of spelling errors and grammar errors that shows an inability to write to the standards which we expect, your character application will be denied. You should have submitted your best work from the get-go. We want to maintain a standard of high quality, and by allowing people to submit sub par work and then edit it works against that concept. If you're unwilling to put effort into your first application submission attempt - basically the first impression you're giving us - why should we feel comfortable with you putting effort into any post you'd make here as a member?
4) That said, if there are smaller details with the application we are concerned about, but the overall application is acceptable, then we'll talk with you about addressing the smaller issues and you'll be accepted once that's done. Don't think that because we responded to your application with concerns means you won't be accepted. There are just some minor things that may need to be cleared up. However, if we respond with serious doubts about what you've submitted and tell you we cannot accept the character, respect it and move on.
5) Players may not submit as many characters as they feel they can handle as it is a form of power gaming. However, if one character dies you may post another one at your own discretion. Remember, we always hope you will post a new one if your character is killed off.
6) Once your character has been approved, we will edit your profile to match the character information accordingly. Please remember, only administrators have the ability to edit other forum members profiles and we cannot see nor edit any crucial information such as password and actual account name.
7) Personal avatars are not to be added to your profile. We add your rank insignia to your profile's avatar so those on the forum may see what your rank is visually. If you are a private and do not have an avatar, then it is acceptable to have a personal avatar as long as you are of the private rank.
