The RPG is set up in a free-form manner, meaning players will write posts as part of topics on this message board with little restrictions to the format in which they post. When the Marines are not actively participating in a mission, players may do as they like. Their characters can get some food in the Mess Hall, hang out in the Squad Bays, or engage in simulated hand-to-hand combat in the gym. During missions, however, things are a little different. First, it's important to remember the Marine Corps chain-of-command. By becoming a Marine, you're committing yourself to the Corps and surrendering most of your options in regards to free choice. From this point onward, you must obey the instructions of your superior officers and Non-Commissioned Officers to the letter.
Please be aware that during a mission your character stands a good chance of dying or receiving crippling wounds if he/she isn't careful in the field. This is the life of the Corps. Before a mission, there is no telling who will live or who will die or who is medically discharged. You're welcome to submit another character application to begin life with a new character in the Corps.
When a campaign starts up, the proper forums will be made up at that time. Please remember that you may take part in several missions per campaign and that some missions may be of a higher priority than others. To ensure realism, not all missions will involve combat. To move in between boards, you must role-play efficiently. You must say your character is leaving one board and heading into another.
Example:
Jon walked out of the mess hall and headed for the RZ point, the docks. They would perform a patrol of the waterways. (Ward left the mess hall and then posts in the appropriate area of the Mobile Operations).
If you have any questions related to formatting or the way to play, or anything at all, do not hesitate to ask for help from other players or from board staff. We're all here to help.
