Time: 1500 Date: 4/16/2138 Location: UAC Frigate
The Marines of third battalion, first regiment, nineth platoon had boarded their drop-ship. The Hell Hounds were to partake in their second campaign. They were prepared for whatever would occur. All were armed to the teeth. They were prepared, this time. The Marines awaited the drop-ship to descend out of the ship. When it did, they felt the acceleration. It would take five minutes for them to reach the ship. They had time to converse amongst eachother. The lieutenant and staff sergeant may have had a few things to say to their platoon.
They had two new Marines to join them, fresh out of boot. Private Breanna Perez and Private Tyler Campbell. Breanna was a technician and Campbell a sniper. The latter was needed more than ever. Since they were FNGs, no one said much to them.

Elias sat there, as still as a statue. He was smoking a cigarette, but he didn't take it from his mouth. He simply let the ashes fall on the ground, flicking the ashes out with his mouth, a talent that comes from smoking too much. Some of the guys wondered how the guy could simply sit there, quiet and unmoving, watching everyone with that single eye. Others were chatting, some of them nervous.
"LT" He said and smiled at their new Lieutenant. He gave a sloppy salute and smiled devilishly at the new commander "Welcome to Hell Hounds, where lead is your breakfast and you wash it down with blood" He gave that tired laugh, the laugh boots hated
"You need a band-aid, you know where to go sir" He gave a wink and motioned with three-fingered hand as if to say It's your turn to speak to the squad
"Listen up everyone, the new LT has shit to say"

Meyen was armed to the teeth. He had several magazines for his Assault Rifle, and also a ammo can of 250 rounds clipped to his vest on his lower back. He felt like a SAW gunner of some sort. Last time he almost ran out of ammo, and now he had a lot, for him and his squad just in case. He put a cigarette in his mouth, and then searched for his lighter. 'Damn' Meyen thought. He forgot his lighter.
"Godchild, may i use your lighter?" Meyen asked.

Elias laughed and nodded. He tossed one of two lighter he had to Meyen. "Keep it" He smiled a sinister smile this time. He had two packs of matches and his two lighters, well. . .One lighter now.
He looked at new LT "Lieutenant. . .You ever seen that Porno. . .What was it. . "He started snapping his fingers "Arma-Get-It-On?" He laughed again "Kinda reminds me of that damn ship we gotta protect" He flicked his cigarette again "Any egg head tells me how to do my job though" he ran a thumb across his throat "I know how to do my shit, all of these men can vouche for that, I don't need some over paid, paranoid scientist tellin me I don't do shit like the nurse down the street"

"That's only because they don't get laid afterwards, man. Now shut the bloody hell up." The lieutenant said, winking at the lance corporal.

The sergeant was so pissed he wasn't even speaking, the last egg head he protected proved to be the one to make the problem and this new one...

Elias laughed and winked back. He was always like this during the trip to the next mission, everyone who had been in the squad long enough knew this. It was quite the opposite from his usually grim and serious mood. The ones who had been with the Hell Hounds awhile knew it was the joint he smoked before each mission.
Elias sat there, calming himself,as he did every mission. The joint made him feel good, made him forget about the shit they were getting into, and it helped him focus. By the time they got to the LZ he would be calm, and even more focused, it helped a lot.

"Alright, listen up... you know the spiel. I want this to go by the book. Stay frosty, don't bunch up, and do your job. Don't try to do the scientists' job. Some of the eggheads aren't too friendly... don't ventilate their heads for me! They're collateral damage and command does not want collateral damage on this mission. Staff Sergeant, anything you would like to add?" The lieutenant said.
He glared at the staff sergeant. He had seemed highly angered since they had their rest and relaxation aborted. He did not want the man to do something rash.

"Put that 'joint' out before I hit you for possession of illegal drugs. Now, staff sergeant, any words of wisdom? Especially for our two new guys?"

Elias nodded slowly and stomped it out with his boot He smiled at the LT, he was a fairly reasonable character. "As you say LT" He laughed again
Then he nodded at Meyen "No worries Corporal, as long as you don't die"

Meyen looked up at the Sergeant, he was definatley stressed out. More than most of them it seemed like to Meyen. Meyen sat patiently and smoked his cigarette, waiting to land.
