The Strogg Tactical Transfers opened up, the rounds pinging just meters from Hayek's head. He ducked down and then returned fire. The other Marines following suite. They had two minutes left. Two minutes until rescue arrived. Would they survive?

"Shit..." He murmured then look over the box taking his new angle then looked at his marines, good none had been hit... Yet... He blind fired around the corner of his box then took a look around for their positions before hiding again then looking around and taking aim.

"Holy hell!!" Hoot yelled as he dove behind cover. He slowly peeked out from the side of the box he was hiding behind so he presented less of a target. He peered through the scope, one poor strogg bastard was about to have a very bad day, he pulled the trigger back slow and steady until he felt the recoil. He didnt blink so he could see the tracer fly through the air and hit the Strogg right inbetween it's eyes. He looked at the carnage, utterly satisfied at the brains and machinery strewn around.
Then he snapped out of it, and flipped the selector switch to full auto and proceeded to put 2 in the chest and one in the head of any Strogg dumb enough to stay in his crosshairs for more than a second.
Edit: Put in last part

Elias' single eye widened with the knowledge of the ambush. "Damn!" He shouted and dove behind cover. It wasn't like it used to be. Strogg used to be dumb, blood thirsty, and overall dangerous. Now they were all of those, but now they were smart.
A single pull of the trigger and a Strogg's chest exploded and the tubes connected to his arm spewed yellow juices. Another Strogg had his foot shot completley off. Blindfiring seemed to be working well for now. . .

Sergeant Hayek looked at a small timer on his wrist one minute to go... They could do it no problem... As long as nothing bigger arrived... "Keep it up and don't get killed, marines less than a minute now!"

The drop-ship arrived in the nick of time. More Strogg, mainly soldiers, began pouring into the hangar. The battle had become chaotic. The Marines, covered by Force Recon, piled into the drop-ship. Force Recon boarded last. The drop-ship spun around and accelerated out of the hangar. Corporal Dunn hit the detonator and the faint echo of an explosion could be heard. On their objective window, Mission Accomplished appeared. They had done it.
The drop-ship ascended into the clouds. They had finally completed Operation Sweeping Fury. The Marines cheered and patted eachother on the back. They had survived. They had survived through impossible odds. The Hell Hounds had done the impossible. And they were all proud of it.
