The convoy made it onto the highway. They had left the intersection at the end of the highway and were proceeding down the main road. Then, all hell broke lose. Two Heavy Rocketeers fired their rockets into the two frontal tanks. The missiles impacted the vehicles, disabling one of them. The tanks opened up on the Rocketeers, effectively killing them. Then Strogg soldiers, Brutes, Grunts, and Berserkers attacked. A hail of bullets was being exchanged from both sides.
Nightengail ran for cover and was blindfiring from a brick wall. He saw Corporal Smith run up to a man who had been shot in the stomach. He began to work on him. A round struck him in the shoulder and he fell over from the sheer force of the impact. He arose and attempted to drag the man. A Marine sergeant assisted him and they managed to get behind a metallic wall nearby.
Nightengail hopped over the wall and ran, bullets impacting all around him. Dirt kicked up behind his feet, a hail of red hot lead directed towards him. He skidded on his knees the rest of the distance and fired over the wall until his clip ran dry. He slammed another magazine into the chamber and fired off another burst before helping Smith give the man medical assistance.
Sergeant Hayek crouched behind one of the GEVs and skillfully began sniping out enemy targets. One of the tanks fired its main cannon and destroyed a nearby building, Strogg flying in all directions. PFC Lee found a good vantage point ontop of a balcony in a building and ran into the building, only to find he would have to fight his way up.
Second Squad was pinned down by enemy fire behind a disabled GEV and First Squad was moving through the buildings, attempting to get into a flanking position. The battle for Andromeda had begun. Only time would tell if they made it through Hell.

"First squad this is second squad. Were pinned down by enemy fire behind a disbled GEV from some building 10 o clock. Were gunna regroup with you guys in that building your clearing over." Meyen said.
Right after saying this Meyen clicks off the COMM and turns to his squad.
"Okay Marines, heres the plan. Hudson your gunna deploy a smoke between that destroyed truck and that broken fence. Wait till the smoke milks up, and were gunna cross the smoke one at a time into that tall grey building over there, thats where first squad is. While each of us crosses we provide covering fire. Got it? I'll be the last one." Meyen said.
Meyen had to leave this positon, he has to get his Marines across safely.

"No go... we are encountering heavy resistance and the less bodies, the better. Regroup with Sarge, he's over by a disabled GEV. Probably near your position. Over." Corporal Dunn said, hoping the situation did not deteroriate any more than it had.

"Roger Dunn, over and out."
"Alright nevemind Marines, just heard from Dunn that they are also encountering heavy resitance. Were gunna find the Sergeant, Dunn reported he's somewhere near our position. Hold up im contacting him on the COMM."
"Sergeant, this is second squad, wheres your position over?"
"Second Squad keep up the fire on those buildings!"
Meyen screaming to his men, hears the sergeants voice on his radio, but its muffled and he can barely hear it. Bullets are pinging off the GEV, he then looks over the top and sees a strogg soldier in a window firing on his marines. He puts a 5 round burst in the Squibs head, eliminating him. A rocket flies overhead, nearly hitting the whole squad. Its time to move and soon.
"Sir do you read me, sir? Meyen said.
More muffled sounds come from the radio. He then slams the radio against the GEV.
"Sir how about now? Meyen says calmly.

"Roger, I read you. Get the hell over here, NOW!" Sergeant Hayek ordered, the sound of weapons' fire apparent over the communications.
The battle was worsening. The situation detoriating. They needed to move and fast!

"Alright Marines on me! Hudson watch our six."
Second Squad runs past several small buildings, getting heavy fire between them. Meyen then sees a GEV in flames about 100 meters ahead, he sees several Marines behind it.
"I think i see the Sergeant guys, keep moving!" Meyen said while blind firing on his right at a nearby building infested with Strogg.
Meyen now only about 80 feet from the GEV sees the Sergeant and wounded Marines at his side. They're recieving heavy fire from all sides. The Corporal then orders his squad behind a corner of a building. Hes now only 20 feet away.
"Sergeant, give us covering fire, were gunna cross!" Meyen yells at the top of his lungs.

The sergeant notices the Marines' and nods, then crouches and pops out of cover, firing several three round bursts into the enemy. He downed several Strogg and the group successfully made it to the GEV. Now, they began firing on Strogg forces. This would be a battle to remember... if they even survived.
First Squad encountered heavy resistance, but they still pushed through. They would have to get to the building on the convoy's twelve O'clock or they'd be sitting ducks. The idea of losing an entire convoy was not one to be taken lightly. He would keep pushing.
PFC Lee fired his assault rifle into the oncoming Strogg soldiers. Luckily, only soldiers infested the building. Nothing more. He began moving down the hallway, weapon at the ready. As he reached the stairway, the sound of footsteps beating down on the stairs resonated. Lee ran back and took cover behind a wall, peaking around the corner, awaiting the oncoming Strogg. They would arrive soon enough. Soon indeed. Keeping to his silent nature, he did not call for assistance. He could take on the Strogg easily, he was sure of it. He had the better position and had armor. They did not. An easy battle, nonetheless.

"Sergeant, what's the plan?"
Meyen and his squad made it safely to the Sergeant, which he was happy about, and now wanted to keep moving. Staying here for too long can be a death trap.

"Just stay here until further orders!" Hayek said, firing his weapon wildly into the horde of Strogg forces, "Eat it, Squibs!"

Elias finished patching up another marine. The number of wounded were vast, and it was only growing.
The unknown Sergeant and himself were working well together, moving from one wounded man to the next. Smith was with him as well, aiding him with the wounded.
He was patching up another injured soldier when a Strogg rushed them. Smith froze up. Elias turned and sprayed the squib with two three round bursts, dropping him instantly. "Shit's getting worse" he stated the obvious, mostly to himself. He noticed another marine missing a leg, about 50 yards off, screaming for help. The marine they were currently helping wouldn't make it without attention.
"Smith, keep with it. Keep him conscience and alive. You know what to do. Sergeant, you and I have to make it over to that marine over there" He pointed the still shrieking man. The sergeant nodded.
Elias sprinted across the open, not really minding the flying bullets. The Sergeant was hot on his trail, following the medic to the downed soldier. The Sergeant called something out and then there was silence. Elias turned to confront the Sergeant but noticed he wasn't there. The Sergeant had been hit in the ribs and neck with a nail gun.
Turning to drag the Sergeant to safety, Elias slipped on some blood, falling to the ground. He pushed himself up and rushed to the Sergeant and began dragging him toward the single legged marine. He was hit in the thigh with a nail, but ignored the pain. Blood oozed from the wound, but he would live.
He leaned the Sergeant up against a concrete barrier alongside the marine. Elias took the man's belt and tied it around his missing leg firmly, and put cream on it. Then he put powder on it to keep it from bleeding, then bandaged it up. He put some morphine in the guy and put some adrenaline in his heart. Then he looked to the Sergeant, who was fading.
Elias used the adrenaline first, he had to keep the Sergeant conscience. Then he bandaged up the wounds and gave him some morphine and something to bite on to relieve the pain. "You'll live sir" he said. It wasn't a guarantee, but it was all the man had now. The three of them were cut off, and the situation was only worsening.

"Hell Hounds, this is command. We are attempting to press the Strogg deeper into the city and surround them near city hall. We need your platoon to move through the buildings and flank the Strogg that have the convoy pinned at its location on the twelve O'clock. You have two choices," The voice of one of the SMC commanders blared out of their communicators, "You may use one of the tanks to blow through the building or have a squad infiltrate it and eliminate those Strogg. Your choice. Command, out."

Meyen with the Sergeant and his squad, are still holding their position. When he heard the COMM from Command, he thought hard. Tank or the squad, tank or the squad. He'll just leave up to Sergeant he thought.

'fuckin' A!!' Jared thought as he shot another soldier in the head. He wished he had more time to introduce himself to the squad before all hell broke loose.
His firing slowed, he looked through the scope at another one of those strogg butchers. He breathed in deeply and held his breath. He fired the shot, it didnt go down. He went through the process again only when he pulled the trigger back instead of the crack of his rifle, he got an unsatisfying 'click'.
"Shit.... Loading!!" He pulled the magazine out of the rifle and slapped another one in.
((OOC: Im still a little confused cartwright, is this like a freeform RPG, or do you decide whether or not we hit?))

((OOC: It's a light-ruled RPG, currently. You decide if the Strogg you shoot gets hit or not. Though, sometimes if you leave it to me, I will decide. It all depends on how you wanna do it. For instance, you could say you fired some rounds at a Strogg but not explain if it hit or not and if the Strogg died. Then I'll do that for you. But if you go ahead and post it, then there ya go. I think this is a much nicer system.))
